5-daagse workshop CVT

Complete Vocal Technique (CVT) is a pioneering and innovative approach to vocal technique, developed by the Danish Cathrine Sadolin. CVT is used worldwide by professional singers, singing teachers, and actors. The techniques can be used in all styles of singing, and are highly useful for anyone interested in the voice, professionals as well as beginners. CVT teaches you to produce all sounds in all styles in a healthy manner. You quickly achieve results as the techniques are concrete, and can be used to solve all vocal problems and wishes, including volume, high/low notes, sound color, breath support, vocal effects like vibrato, etc.

Course program
Theory, group exercises and individual instruction
The daily program consists of CVT theory, group exercises and masterclasses. The masterclasses provide each individual participant time to work on a song or (technical) question of their own choice.

Ensemble / a cappella singing
The course encompasses many aspects of singing: vocal technique, performance, intonation, rhythm, phrasing, interpretation, singing in a choir and with other singers. Once a day the entire group comes together to work on choir / a cappella singing.
During the choir sessions we will work on musical aspects such as rhythm, groove, blending, and purity of tone, but above all enjoy singing and making music together! The repertoire will include pop, jazz, and world music arrangements in 4-6 voices. Depending on the interests of the group, during the week there will be possibilities to form smaller ensembles, or to do backing vocals for other singers.

Number of participants
All sessions are laid out as group instruction. The maximum number of participants is set to 16 singers, and most of the time we will work in two smaller groups. The groups will be divided according to level. Both groups will receive instructions from both course teachers.
At the end of each day the whole group will get together to work on choral/a cappella repertoire.

Preparation for the course
The participants are asked to bring songs, or parts of songs, containing vocal technical difficulties to be worked on. Also, bring charts / sheet music / karaoke tracks / CD's. The participants are encouraged to consider technical difficulties they wish to work on.
The book Complete Vocal Technique will be an important tool during the course, however it is not obligatory to own or have read the book in advance. If you wish to purchase a copy of the book, contact your local bookstore or order the book via the web shop of Complete Vocal Institute. The book is available in English, Dutch, French, German, Swedish, Finnish, and Danish.

Teachers (authorized CVT teachers): Katja Maria Slotte en Gisli Magna.
